Patriotism
Patriotism is defined as devotion to and vigorous support of one’s country. We aren’t sure how this trend of being ashamed of your country came to be, but we don’t like it. Not one bit. That’s why it’s high time we instill a sense of patriotic pride in our kids and in doing so, ensure a better future for us all!
Being patriotic can generate a wonderful feeling that doesn’t just stick around for the fireworks but remains long after the smoke has cleared.
Appreciation in our hearts for the struggles our country has overcome makes us realize how our freedom came at a high cost to many. When you have gratitude in your heart for others and the sacrifices made, you are more likely to pay it forward and be a contributing citizen in your community.
Here at Kids AMERICAN, we want kids to understand that it is not only cool, but also vital to have a spirit of patriotism! When you believe in your country, it results in greater self esteem and a resourceful attitude.
Just like loyalty to a friend doesn’t have to mean you agree with every decision that friend makes, being patriotic means being supportive of your country despite the choices you disagree with.
If you find yourself or a youth in your life to be anything but patriotic, have no fear! It’s easy to get fired up about America and some quick, easy lessons and discussions will have you proudly supporting the red, white and blue in no time!
